Insurance and Medical Necessity
Ocular Prosthetics are medically necessary. They help to maintain the shape of eye socket and also support both the upper and lower eye lid. When patients do not wear a prosthesis many can experience infections, sockets changes and other health issues.
Monoplex Eye Prosthetics and Studley Ocular Labs accept most forms of medical health insurance.
With all health insurance it is the patient’s responsibility to know and understand their policies and requirements. However, we are always happy to help our patients navigate their way through.
Veterans can often get their ocular prosthesis payment taken care of through the VA. Call and make an appointment with your VA eye doctor and ask for a referral.
“Insurance and especially Medicare can be overwhelming, we welcome calls to offer our experience and know how to help any patient” Helen Wilson, Patient Care Coordinator.
