What is a Board Certified Ocularist?
A Board Certified Ocularist is a specialist in the fitting and fabrication of custom ocular prosthetics who has completed the education program of the American Society of Ocularists well as receivied certification with National Examining Board of Ocularists (NEBO, http://www.neboboard.org/). This extensive training includes over 10,000 hours of working under a Board Approved Dimplomate Ocularist to ensure that each Board Certified Ocularist is highly trained in the art of manufacturing, painting and fitting custom ocular prosthetics. This certification and training must be continued through annual meetings, lectures and education classes held by the American Society of Ocularists.
“Being a Board Certified Oculartist is particularly important to me and my patients. I want my patients to know that I have been trained, tested and certified to provide them with the highest quality care.” Peter J Kazanovicz, Board Certified Ocularist
“It can take up to 7 years to become a Board Certified Ocularist, but it is important for me to take that journey. It shows my patients I am committed to them, their care and I will be here for them for years to come.” Lindsey Kazanovicz Boyle, Ocularist.
